Margaret Ritchie SDLP Assembly Member for South Down has called upon the Health Minister to confirm funding for Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry.
Miss Ritchie said, “Daisy Hill, Newry is due to receive an investment of £81 million for redevelopment from the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety.
With the economic downturn, and efficiency savings being made by the Department of Health to various health & social care organisations, I want to ensure that this funding will continue to be made available to Daisy Hill.
Daisy Hill is a key health provider to my constituents across the southern part of South Down and beyond. It is important that this funding remains in place in order to adequately provide health care for future generations, and to maintain the standard of care already being provided.
I have made strong representations to the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety requiring his confirmation that this funding will be delivered fully to Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry.”
